  2. Contraindications: Do not use on an arm with an intravenous infusion or arterial line.
  3. Precautions: Do not use near high-frequency surgical equipment or MRI scanners.
  4. Warnings: This device is not a treatment device. Measurements are for monitoring purposes only and are not a substitute for a medical diagnosis.

WARNING! A measurement result indicating possible AFIB or hypertension should be discussed with a physician. Do not make any therapy decisions based on a single measurement.

Device Overview

Front Panel: START/STOP button, MEMORY button, USER 1/2 selection button, LCD Display.

Display Icons: User 1/2, Memory symbol, Battery indicator, Heart symbol (pulse), AFIB symbol, WHO classification bar, Systolic/Diastolic/Pulse readings, Date & Time.

Cuff & Tubing: Cuff with Velcro closure and metal D-ring. Air tube connector port on left side of monitor.

Initial Setup

Before first use: Install batteries and set date/time.

  1. Insert Batteries: Open battery compartment on back, insert 4 AA batteries observing correct polarity (+/-).
  2. Set Date/Time: Press and hold MEMORY button for 3 seconds until year flashes. Use START/STOP to adjust values, MEMORY to confirm and move to next setting (month, day, hour, minute).
  3. Select User: Press USER button to select User 1 or User 2. Corresponding icon will appear on display.
  4. Apply Cuff: Ensure cuff is correctly connected to the monitor.

Tip: Perform setup on a stable surface. Use fresh batteries for accurate results.

Taking a Measurement

For reliable results, rest for 5 minutes before measuring. Avoid eating, smoking, or exercising 30 minutes prior.

  1. Sit comfortably on a chair with back support, feet flat on the floor.
  2. Place left arm on a table so the cuff is at heart level.
  3. Wrap the cuff snugly around your bare upper arm, 1-2 cm above elbow. The air tube should run down the center of your arm.
  4. Press the START/STOP button. The monitor will inflate automatically.
  5. Remain still and quiet during inflation and measurement. Do not move your arm or talk.
  6. The cuff will deflate automatically. Your systolic, diastolic pressure, and pulse rate will display.
  7. The monitor will automatically store the reading for the selected user.

WARNING! Do not inflate the cuff when it is not wrapped around an arm.

Understanding Results

The display shows three main values and indicators.

Memory Function

Stores up to 99 measurements for each of 2 users with date and time.

  1. View Memory: Press the MEMORY button once. The most recent reading displays.
  2. Scroll: Press MEMORY again to scroll through previous readings in reverse chronological order.
  3. Average Value: After 3 measurements taken within 10 minutes, the display will show the average of these 3 readings for a few seconds after the last result.
  4. Exit Memory: Press START/STOP or wait 1 minute to return to standby mode.

Note: Memory is retained when batteries are removed, but date/time will reset.

AFIB Detection

This device incorporates Microlife's validated AFIB screening technology.

Battery & Power

CAUTION! Do not mix old and new batteries. Do not use rechargeable batteries unless specified as compatible.

Care & Cleaning

Unplug air tube and remove batteries before cleaning.

  1. Monitor & Cuff: Wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not immerse in water or use abrasive cleaners.
  2. Air Tube: Do not bend sharply or kink. Ensure connector is clean and free of debris.
  3. Storage: Store in the provided case in a cool, dry place. Do not store with the cuff tightly wrapped.

CAUTION! Never use alcohol, benzene, or thinner to clean the device. Do not expose to direct sunlight or high humidity.

Reset: To reset date/time, press and hold MEMORY button for 3 seconds. To clear all memory, remove batteries for over 24 hours (note: this will also clear date/time).
