Initial Setup & Battery Installation

Before first use, install batteries and set the date/time.

  1. Open the battery compartment on the back of the device.
  2. Insert 4 AA batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-).
  3. Close the compartment.
  4. Press the START/STOP button. The display will show all symbols briefly.

Applying the Cuff

Correct cuff placement is essential for an accurate reading.

  1. Sit comfortably on a chair with back support. Rest for 5 minutes.
  2. Remove tight clothing from your upper left arm.
  3. Pass the end of the cuff through the metal D-ring to form a loop.
  4. Place the cuff on your bare left arm so the air tube runs down the center of your inner arm, aligned with your middle finger. The lower edge should be 1-2 cm above your elbow.
  5. Secure the cuff snugly, but not too tight, using the Velcro.
  6. Rest your arm on a table so the cuff is at heart level.

CAUTION! Do not apply the cuff over clothing. Ensure the cuff is the correct size for your arm.

Taking a Measurement

Follow these steps for a reliable reading.

  1. After applying the cuff correctly, press the START/STOP button. All display symbols will light up briefly.
  2. The device will automatically inflate. Remain still and do not flex your arm.
  3. The cuff will deflate automatically. Your systolic pressure, diastolic pressure, and pulse rate will be displayed.
  4. An Irregular Heartbeat (IHD) symbol will appear if an irregular rhythm is detected.
  5. The reading will be automatically saved to memory for the current user.
  6. The device will power off automatically after about 1 minute.

WARNING! Do not inflate the cuff when it is not wrapped around your arm, as this may damage the device.
