- Connect Cuff: Plug the cuff tube connector firmly into the port on the left side of the device.
Tip: For accurate time-stamping of measurements, ensure the date and time are set correctly.
Taking a Measurement
For reliable results, rest for 5 minutes before measuring. Avoid eating, smoking, or exercising 30 minutes prior.
- Sit Correctly: Sit on a chair with back support, feet flat on the floor. Rest your arm on a table so the cuff is at heart level.
- Apply Cuff: Place cuff on bare upper arm (left arm recommended). The bottom edge should be 2-3 cm above the elbow. The air tube should run down the center of your inner arm. Secure snugly with Velcro.
- Select User: Press the USER button to select USER 1 or USER 2. The corresponding icon will appear on the display.
- Start Measurement: Press the START/STOP button. The device will inflate automatically. Remain still and quiet. Do not move your arm or talk.
- Read Results: After deflation, your systolic/diastolic pressure and pulse will display. The WHO bar will indicate the classification. The result is automatically saved to the selected user's memory.
- Power Off: The device turns off automatically about 1 minute after measurement.
WARNING! Do not inflate the cuff more than once within 2-3 minutes to allow circulation to return to normal.
Memory Function
The device stores 60 measurements for each of two users (M1 and M2).
- View Memory: Press the MEMORY button briefly. The display shows the most recent result for the selected user, along with the memory number and average of the last 3 readings.
- Scroll Through Memory: Press the MEMORY button repeatedly to scroll through all stored measurements for the current user, from newest to oldest.
- Switch User Memory: Press the USER button to switch between USER 1 and USER 2 memory banks, then press MEMORY to view.
- Clear Memory: To clear all memory for the current user, press and hold the USER button for 5 seconds while in memory mode. "CLR" will flash, then all readings for that user will be deleted.
Understanding Results
- Systolic Pressure: The higher number (e.g., 120 mmHg). Pressure when the heart beats.
- Diastolic Pressure: The lower number (e.g., 80 mmHg). Pressure when the heart rests between beats.
- Pulse Rate: Beats per minute (e.g., 72 bpm).
- WHO Indicator Bar: A colored bar on the right side of the display indicates classification:
- Green (Low/Normal): Optimal/ Normal blood pressure.
- Yellow (High Normal/ Grade 1): Elevated/ Mild hypertension.
- Orange (Grade 2): Moderate hypertension.
- Red (Grade 3): Severe hypertension.
- IHD Symbol (Irregular Heartbeat): If this symbol appears, an irregular heartbeat was detected during the measurement. Consult your physician if it appears frequently.
