Device Overview

Front Panel: START/STOP button, Memory (M) button, Date/Time (D/T) button, LCD display. Cuff: Air tube connection point, Velcro closure, artery marker. Rear: Battery compartment, AC adapter socket.

Initial Setup

Before first use: Install batteries or connect AC adapter. Set date and time. Apply cuff properly.

  1. Insert batteries: Open compartment, insert 4 AA batteries observing polarity.
  2. Set date/time: Press D/T button, use START/STOP to adjust values.
  3. Apply cuff: Wrap cuff on bare upper arm, 1-2 cm above elbow. Align artery marker with brachial artery.
  4. Ensure tube runs down center of arm toward hand.
  5. Cuff should fit snugly; you should be able to insert one finger between cuff and arm.

Tip: Rest for 5 minutes before first measurement. Sit comfortably with feet flat on floor.

Taking a Measurement

For accurate results: Avoid eating, smoking, or caffeine 30 minutes before measurement.

  1. Sit comfortably with back supported and feet flat on floor.
  2. Place cuff on left arm (or as directed by physician) at heart level.
  3. Press START/STOP button. Device will inflate automatically.
  4. Remain still and quiet during measurement. Do not move arm or talk.
  5. Device will deflate automatically and display results.
  6. Results show: Systolic pressure (top), Diastolic pressure (middle), Pulse rate (bottom).
  7. WHO indicator lights show classification (green=normal, yellow=high-normal, red=hypertension).
  8. If arrhythmia detected, irregular heartbeat symbol appears.
  9. Device powers off automatically after 1 minute.

WARNING! Do not inflate cuff more than once within 2 minutes to avoid injury.

Memory & Data Management

Memory stores 99 readings with date and time. Supports tracking for multiple users (on some models).

  1. View memory: Press M button to scroll through stored readings.
  2. Delete single reading: Display reading, press and hold M button for 3 seconds.
  3. Delete all memory: With device off, press and hold both M and D/T buttons for 5 seconds.
  4. Average function: Displays average of last 3 readings taken within last 10 minutes.

Note: Memory is preserved when batteries are removed for up to 5 minutes.

Care & Maintenance

Clean device with soft, dry cloth only. Do not use chemicals or immerse in water.

  1. Remove batteries if device will not be used for extended period.
  2. Store in cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
  3. Clean cuff with mild soap and damp cloth if necessary. Air dry completely.
  4. Do not fold air tube sharply or pull on it forcefully.
  5. Replace cuff if it becomes damaged or loses elasticity.
