Taking a Measurement
For reliable readings, follow these steps carefully.
- Rest: Sit quietly for 5 minutes before measuring. Avoid caffeine, exercise, and smoking 30 minutes prior.
- Position: Sit on a chair with back support, feet flat on the floor. Rest arm on a table so the cuff is at heart level.
- Apply Cuff: Slide arm through D-ring. Place cuff 1-2 cm above elbow with air tube over inner arm. Secure snugly.
- Start Measurement: Press START/STOP. The cuff will inflate automatically.
- Remain Still: Do not move or talk during measurement.
- Read Results: Systolic, diastolic pressure, and pulse rate display. The WHO indicator bar shows classification.
- If MAM is activated, the device will automatically take two more readings and display the average.
WARNING! Do not inflate cuff without it being properly applied to the arm.
Using the Memory Function
The device stores readings with date and time for tracking.
- Select User: Before measuring, press M to choose User 1 or User 2. All subsequent readings are stored for that user.
- View Memory: Press the MEMORY button. The display shows the average of all stored values for the selected user. Press again to scroll through individual readings.
- Clear Memory: To delete all readings for the current user, press and hold the MEMORY button for 5 seconds until the display resets.
Note: Memory is separate for each user (99 readings each).
MAM Technology (Microlife Average Mode)
MAM provides a more reliable single reading by averaging three consecutive measurements.
- Activation: MAM is the default mode. The MAM icon appears on the display.
- Operation: After the first measurement, the device waits 30 seconds, then automatically inflates for the second, waits another 30 seconds, and takes the third.
- Result: The display shows the average systolic, diastolic, and pulse values of the three readings.
- Deactivation: To take a single measurement, you must deactivate MAM in the settings (refer to advanced manual).
Benefit: MAM minimizes the influence of random variations and white-coat syndrome.
Care & Maintenance
Proper care ensures longevity and accuracy.
- Cleaning: Wipe main unit and cuff with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not immerse in water or use solvents.
- Storage: Disconnect the cuff tube, loosely coil it, and store everything in the provided case in a cool, dry place.
- Cuff Care: Do not fold the cuff tightly or crease the air bladder. Inspect for cracks or leaks periodically.
- Batteries: Replace batteries when the low battery icon appears. Remove batteries if device will not be used for several months.
CAUTION! Do not attempt to repair the device yourself. It contains no user-serviceable parts.
