Parts Identification

Front of device: LCD display, START/STOP button, MEMORY button, USER 1/2 selection button, DATE/TIME SET button.

Display symbols: User indicator (1 or 2), systolic pressure, diastolic pressure, pulse rate, irregular heartbeat symbol, WHO classification bar, battery indicator, memory full icon, date and time.

Initial Setup

Before first use: Install batteries or connect AC adapter, set date and time.

  1. Battery installation: Open battery compartment, insert 4 AA batteries observing polarity.
  2. AC adapter: Connect to DC jack on side of unit, then to wall outlet (use only supplied adapter).
  3. Set date/time: Press and hold DATE/TIME button, use START/STOP to adjust values, press DATE/TIME to confirm.

Taking a Measurement

Memory Function

Access OSD via TV MENU or SETUP (DVD). Front Panel: POWER, OPEN/CLOSE, AUTO/DPMS, MUTE.

Viewing memory: Press MEMORY button to scroll through stored readings for selected user. Display shows reading number, systolic/diastolic, pulse, date and time.

Clearing memory: While in memory mode, press and hold MEMORY button for 3 seconds to delete all readings for current user.

User selection: Press USER button to switch between User 1 and User 2 memory banks.

Understanding Results

WHO classification colors on display:

  1. Green: Optimal (Systolic < 120, Diastolic < 80)
  2. Yellow: Normal (Systolic 120-129, Diastolic 80-84)
  3. Orange: High Normal (Systolic 130-139, Diastolic 85-89)
  4. Red: Hypertension (Systolic ≥ 140, Diastolic ≥ 90)

Irregular heartbeat symbol: Appears if irregular rhythm detected during measurement. If symbol appears frequently, consult physician.

Tip: Take measurements at same time each day for consistent tracking. Record readings in provided log.

Care & Maintenance

Supports DVD-Video, audio CDs.

  1. Cleaning: Wipe unit with slightly damp cloth. Do not immerse in water. Do not use solvents or abrasives.
  2. Cuff care: Clean with mild soap and water if soiled. Allow to dry completely before storage.
  3. Storage: Store in provided case in cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
  4. Batteries: Replace when battery symbol appears on display. Use alkaline batteries for best performance.
  5. Transport: Disconnect tube from unit before transporting to prevent damage to air port.
