Safety Information

Read all instructions before use. This device is for self-measurement, not for continuous monitoring or medical diagnosis.

  1. Consult your physician before use if you have arrhythmia, pre-eclampsia, or other circulatory disorders.
  2. Do not use on infants, children, or persons unable to express themselves.
  3. Do not use the device near strong electromagnetic fields (e.g., mobile phones, microwave ovens).
  4. Remain still and quiet during measurement. Do not talk or move your arm.

Device Overview

Front Panel:

Side/Back:

Display Symbols: Systolic/Diastolic pressure, Pulse rate, AFIB symbol, Irregular Heartbeat symbol, User indicator (1/2), Memory icon, Battery icon, WHO classification bar, Date & Time.

Initial Setup & Battery Installation

Before first use, install batteries and set the date/time.

  1. Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the device.
  2. Insert 4 AA batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-).
  3. - The device will turn on automatically.
  4. Set the date and time:
    • Press and hold the MEMORY (M) button for 3 seconds until the year flashes.
    • Use the START/STOP button to change the value.
    • Press the MEMORY (M) button to confirm and move to the next setting (month, day, hour, minute).
    • After setting the minute, press M to save and exit.

Note: Use only alkaline batteries. Remove batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period.

Applying the Cuff

Correct cuff placement is essential for an accurate reading.

  1. Sit quietly for 5 minutes before measurement. Rest your arm on a table.
  2. Bare your left upper arm. Ensure the cuff is not over thick clothing.
  3. Pass the end of the cuff through the metal D-ring to form a loop. The air tube should run down the inside center of your arm.
  4. Position the cuff so the lower edge is about 2-3 cm above your elbow. The "ARTERY" mark on the cuff should align with the brachial artery on the inside of your arm.
  5. Secure the cuff snugly, but not too tight. You should be able to fit one finger underneath.
  6. Plug the cuff tube into the air socket on the side of the monitor.

Tip: Always use the same arm for consistent measurements.

Taking a Measurement

  1. Prepare: Sit comfortably with feet flat on the floor. Rest your cuffed arm on a table so the cuff is at heart level. Relax.
  2. Select User: Press the User button (1 or 2) to select your memory profile. The user icon (1 or 2) will appear.
  3. Start: Press the START/STOP button. The cuff will inflate automatically.
  4. Remain Still: Do not move, talk, or tense your arm during inflation and deflation.
  5. Reading: The measurement results (Systolic, Diastolic, Pulse) will appear on the display along with the WHO indicator. The AFIB symbol will appear if a potential atrial fibrillation was detected.
  6. The device will automatically deflate fully and turn off after about 1 minute.

WARNING! If the cuff feels too tight during inflation, press START/STOP immediately to stop and deflate.

Understanding the Display & Symbols

SymbolMeaning
SYS / DIASystolic and Diastolic blood pressure values (mmHg).
Pulse IconHeart rate per minute (Pulse).
AFIB SymbolA potential atrial fibrillation episode was detected during the measurement. Consult your physician.
Irregular Heartbeat SymbolAn irregular heartbeat was detected (not necessarily AFIB).
User 1 / 2Indicates which user's memory is active.
Memory (M) IconIndicates memory recall mode or that data is stored.
Battery IconShows remaining battery power. Replace when empty.
WHO BarColor-coded bar (from green to red) indicating blood pressure category based on WHO guidelines.
Clock IconIndicates date and time display in memory mode.

Memory & Average Function

Memory Recall: The device stores up to 100 measurements for each of the two users.

  1. Press the MEMORY (M) button once. The last measurement for the selected user appears.
  2. Press the START/STOP button to scroll through older measurements. The date and time of each reading are shown.
  3. Press the USER button while in memory mode to switch to the other user's memory.
  4. Press M again or wait to exit memory mode.

Clearing Memory: To delete all data for the currently selected user, press and hold the USER button while in memory mode until "CLR" flashes, then release.

AFIB & Irregular Heartbeat Detection

The BP W70 uses advanced algorithms to analyze your pulse wave during measurement.

Important: For accurate AFIB screening, it is crucial to remain perfectly still and silent during the measurement. Movement can cause false positives.

Care, Cleaning & Storage

Proper care ensures long device life and accurate readings.

  1. Cleaning: Wipe the monitor and cuff with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not use solvents, abrasives, or submerge any part in water.
  2. Storage: Disconnect the cuff tube. Loosely coil the tube; do not bend sharply. Store all components in the provided case in a cool, dry place.
  3. Cuff Care: Do not fold the cuff tightly. The Velcro may collect lint; clean it occasionally to maintain adhesion.
  4. Batteries: Replace all 4 batteries when the low battery icon appears. Remove batteries for long-term storage.

CAUTION! Never attempt to repair the device yourself. Do not expose to extreme temperatures, humidity, dust, or direct sunlight.
