Specifications

Preparation for Measurement

For accurate results, proper preparation is essential.

  1. Rest: Sit quietly for 5 minutes before measuring.
  2. Position: Sit on a chair with feet flat on floor, back supported.
  3. Arm Position: Place arm on table so cuff is at heart level.
  4. Cuff Application: Wrap cuff on bare upper arm. The artery mark (▲) should be over the brachial artery on the inner arm. Cuff edge should be 2-3 cm above elbow.
  5. Tightness: Cuff should be snug; you should be able to fit one finger underneath.

Tip: Avoid eating, smoking, exercising, or drinking caffeine for 30 minutes before measurement.

Taking a Measurement

Follow these steps for a proper reading.

  1. Insert batteries or connect AC adapter.
  2. Select user (I or II) by pressing the User button.
  3. Wrap cuff correctly on left arm (unless instructed otherwise by physician).
  4. Press the START/STOP button. All display symbols will appear briefly.
  5. The cuff will inflate automatically. Remain still and do not talk.
  6. Measurement proceeds; pulse symbol flashes.
  7. Cuff deflates automatically. Results display with systolic, diastolic, and pulse rate.
  8. The WHO indicator bar graph shows classification.
  9. If an irregular heartbeat is detected, the IHD symbol appears.
  10. Reading is automatically stored in memory for selected user.
  11. Device powers off automatically after 1 minute.

WARNING! Do not inflate cuff when not wrapped around arm. Excessive pressure may damage device.

Memory Recall Function

Review past measurements stored in memory.

  1. Press the MEMORY button to enter memory mode.
  2. The display shows the most recent reading for the selected user (I or II).
  3. Press the START/STOP button to scroll through previous readings in reverse chronological order.
  4. Each reading shows memory number, systolic/diastolic values, pulse, date, and time.
  5. To view the other user's memory, first select that user with the User button, then press MEMORY.
  6. To clear all memory for the selected user, press and hold the MEMORY button for 3 seconds until "CLr" appears.
  7. Press MEMORY again to exit memory mode.

Note: Memory is retained even when batteries are removed.

Understanding Your Readings

Interpret your results using the WHO classification.

WHO CategorySystolic (mmHg)Diastolic (mmHg)Display Color
Optimal< 120< 80Green
Normal120-12980-84Light Green
High Normal130-13985-89Yellow
Grade 1 Hypertension (Mild)140-15990-99Orange
Grade 2 Hypertension (Moderate)160-179100-109Red
Grade 3 Hypertension (Severe)≥ 180≥ 110Flashing Red

Irregular Heartbeat Symbol (IHD): If this symbol appears, it means significant pulse irregularities were detected during measurement. Take 2-3 more readings. If symbol appears frequently, consult your physician.

Important: A single high reading does not necessarily mean you have hypertension. Track readings over time and share them with your doctor.

Care & Maintenance

Proper care ensures long device life and accurate readings.

  1. Cleaning: Wipe main unit and cuff with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not immerse in water or use abrasive cleaners.
  2. Storage: Store in provided case in a cool, dry place. Do not store with cuff tightly wrapped.
  3. Handling: Avoid dropping or subjecting to strong shocks. Do not bend air tube sharply.
  4. Cuff Care: Check cuff periodically for tears or leaks. The Velcro should remain clean for secure closure.

CAUTION! Do not disassemble the device. There are no user-serviceable parts inside.

Battery Information

Using and replacing batteries.

Note: If device will not be used for 3 months or more, remove batteries to prevent leakage.
