Device Overview
Familiarize yourself with the monitor's parts and display symbols.
Front Panel: START/STOP button, MEMORY button, LCD Display.

Setting Up the Monitor
Prepare the monitor for first use.
- Insert Batteries: Open battery compartment on back. Insert 4 AA batteries, observing polarity. Close cover.
- Set Date & Time: Press and hold MEMORY button for 3 seconds until year flashes. Use START/STOP to adjust. Press MEMORY to confirm and move to next setting (month, day, hour, minute).
- Attach Cuff: Plug cuff tube firmly into the connector port on the left side of the monitor.
- Select User: Briefly press MEMORY button to toggle between User 1 and User 2. The corresponding icon will appear on the display.
Tip: For most accurate results, use the AC adapter (sold separately) or ensure batteries are fresh.
Taking a Measurement
For reliable readings, follow these steps carefully.
- Prepare: Rest for 5 minutes before measuring. Avoid eating, smoking, or exercising 30 minutes prior. Sit comfortably on a chair with feet flat on the floor.
- Apply Cuff: Place cuff on bare upper arm. The bottom edge should be 2-3 cm above the elbow. The air tube should run down the center of your arm. Secure snugly with the cloth closure.
- Position Arm: Rest your arm on a table so the cuff is at heart level. Relax your hand, palm upward.
- Start Measurement: Press the START/STOP button. The cuff will inflate automatically. Remain still and quiet until measurement is complete and cuff deflates.
- Read Results: Your systolic pressure, diastolic pressure, and pulse rate will display. The WHO indicator will show your category.
WARNING! Do not move or talk during inflation and measurement.
Understanding Your Results
The monitor displays key values and indicators.
- Systolic Pressure: Top number (e.g., 120). Pressure when heart beats.
- Diastolic Pressure: Bottom number (e.g., 80). Pressure when heart rests.
- Pulse Rate: Beats per minute (e.g., 72).
- WHO Bar Graph: Color zones indicate classification:
- Green (Optimal): Below 120/80
- Yellow (Normal): 120-129 / 80-84
- Orange (High Normal): 130-139 / 85-89
- Red (Hypertension): 140+ / 90+
- Irregular Heartbeat Symbol: Appears if an irregular rhythm is detected during measurement. Consult your physician if this appears frequently.
Memory Function
Stores 60 measurements for each of two users with date and time.
- Recall Memory: Press the MEMORY button briefly while the monitor is off. The last measurement for the selected user appears.
- Scroll Through Memory: Press MEMORY again to view previous measurements in reverse chronological order.
- View Average: After the last stored measurement is displayed, pressing MEMORY again shows the average of the last 3 measurements taken within 10 minutes.
- Exit Memory: The monitor will automatically power off after a few seconds, or press START/STOP.
- Clear Memory: Memory is cleared automatically when batteries are removed or when memory is full (oldest reading is overwritten).
Care & Maintenance
Proper care ensures long life and accurate readings.
- Cleaning: Wipe monitor and cuff with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not immerse in water or use solvents.
- Storage: Disconnect the cuff tube. Store in the provided case in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Cuff Care: Do not fold the cuff tightly or twist the air tube. Check cuff and tube for cracks or leaks periodically.
CAUTION! Do not attempt to repair or disassemble the monitor. There are no user-serviceable parts inside.
Battery Information
- Type: 4 x 1.5V AA (LR6) alkaline batteries.
- Battery Life: Approximately 500 measurements (without backlight use).
- Low Battery Indicator: A battery icon appears on the display when power is low. Replace all 4 batteries promptly.
- Replacement: Open battery compartment, remove old batteries, insert new ones observing correct polarity (+/-).
- AC Adapter (optional): Use only the specified Microlife AC adapter (Model AD-6, DC 6V, 500mA). Plug into the DC port on the side of the monitor.
WARNING! Remove batteries if the monitor will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
Troubleshooting
