Device Overview

Front Panel: START/STOP button, MEMORY button, USER button, LCD display. Cuff: Velcro closure, artery marker, air tube connector.

Display Symbols: User indicator (1/2), memory full, battery low, irregular heartbeat, AFIB detection, WHO color bar, systolic/diastolic readings, pulse rate, date/time.

Controls: START/STOP (begin/stop measurement), MEMORY (review stored readings), USER (switch between user 1 and 2).

Initial Setup

Prepare device for first use.

  1. Insert batteries: Open battery compartment, insert 4xAA batteries observing correct polarity.
  2. Set date and time: Press and hold MEMORY button for 3 seconds, use START/STOP to adjust values.
  3. Select user: Press USER button to select User 1 or User 2 (indicator appears on display).
  4. Apply cuff: Wrap cuff on bare upper arm, align artery marker with brachial artery, secure with Velcro.

Tip: Rest for 5 minutes before first measurement. Avoid eating, drinking caffeine, or smoking 30 minutes prior.

Taking a Measurement

Follow these steps for accurate readings.

  1. Sit comfortably: Keep feet flat, back supported, arm resting on table at heart level.
  2. Apply cuff: Position cuff 1-2 cm above elbow, tighten snugly but not too tight.
  3. Start measurement: Press START/STOP button. Cuff will inflate automatically.
  4. Remain still: Do not talk or move during measurement.
  5. Read results: Systolic, diastolic, and pulse appear on display with WHO indicator.
  6. Store reading: Measurement is automatically stored for selected user.
  7. Remove cuff: After measurement completes and cuff deflates, remove from arm.

WARNING! Do not inflate cuff when not attached to arm. Avoid taking measurements more than 3 times in succession.

Memory Function

Stores 60 readings for each of 2 users.

  1. Review memory: Press MEMORY button to scroll through stored readings (date/time displayed).
  2. Switch users: Press USER button to toggle between User 1 and User 2 memory.
  3. Clear memory: To delete all readings for current user, press and hold MEMORY for 5 seconds until display clears.
  4. Memory full: When memory is full, oldest reading is automatically overwritten.

Note: Memory is maintained when batteries are replaced if done within 3 minutes.

Care & Maintenance

Proper care ensures accurate measurements and long device life.

  1. Clean device: Wipe with soft, dry cloth. Do not use solvents or immerse in water.
  2. Store properly: Keep in storage case in cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
  3. Handle cuff carefully: Avoid twisting or kinking air tube. Do not wash cuff.
  4. Replace batteries: When battery symbol appears, replace all 4 batteries promptly.
  5. Check accuracy: Have device checked annually by authorized service center.
