Initial Setup

Prepare device for first use.

  1. Insert batteries: Open battery compartment, insert 4xAA batteries observing polarity.
  2. Set date/time: Press and hold MEMORY button for 3 seconds, use START/STOP to adjust.
  3. Select user: Press USER button to choose user 1 or 2 (display shows U1 or U2).
  4. Apply cuff correctly: Position artery marker over brachial artery on bare upper arm.

Tip: Rest for 5 minutes before first measurement. Sit comfortably with feet flat on floor.

Taking a Measurement

For accurate results, follow proper procedure.

  1. Sit comfortably: Back supported, feet flat, arm resting at heart level.
  2. Apply cuff: Position 1-2 cm above elbow, tighten snugly.
  3. Start measurement: Press START/STOP button (cuff inflates automatically).
  4. Remain still: Do not talk or move during measurement.
  5. Read results: Systolic, diastolic, pulse rate display with WHO indicator.
  6. AFIB detection: AFIB symbol appears if atrial fibrillation detected.
  7. Automatic deflation: Cuff deflates and device stores reading.
  8. Power off: Device turns off automatically after 1 minute.

WARNING! Do not inflate cuff when not wrapped around arm. Wait 2-3 minutes between measurements.

Memory Function

Review stored measurements for tracking.

  1. Select user: Press USER button to choose U1 or U2.
  2. View memory: Press MEMORY button to scroll through stored readings.
  3. Each display shows: Measurement number, systolic/diastolic, pulse, date/time.
  4. Memory full: "FULL" appears when 99 readings stored; oldest overwritten.
  5. Clear memory: Press and hold MEMORY button for 5 seconds when viewing memory.

Note: Memory is maintained when batteries are replaced (briefly).

AFIB Detection

Microlife's patented technology screens for atrial fibrillation.

During measurement: Device analyzes pulse wave pattern. If AFIB detected: AFIB symbol appears on display with measurement results.

Important: AFIB detection is a screening tool, not a diagnosis. If AFIB symbol appears repeatedly, consult physician. Some arrhythmias may not be detected. Device may show AFIB symbol during excessive movement.

Care & Maintenance

Proper care ensures accuracy and longevity.

  1. Clean device: Use soft, dry cloth. Do not use chemicals or immerse in water.
  2. Store properly: Keep in storage case in dry place at room temperature.
  3. Cuff care: Wipe with damp cloth if soiled. Do not machine wash or iron.
  4. Battery replacement: Replace when low battery symbol appears.
  5. Long storage: Remove batteries if not using for extended period.
